Hospice Palliative Care Ontario is a member-based provincial organization that strives for a future where every person and family in the province of Ontario can quickly and easily access the finest standard of hospice palliative care when required.

Why Join HPCO?
Our commitment is to lead the palliative care movement to improve access to quality hospice palliative care and provide:

  • Targeted, effective public policy engagement, driving high level system change for building sustainable, high quality hospice palliative care.
  • Information, education, and resources, enabling members and associates to optimize and leverage resources to deliver high quality hospice palliative care.
  • A forum for the exchange of ideas and information, enabling member and associates to learn from each other.

Ways to Join
Hospice Palliative Care Ontario offers membership or associate status for individuals or organizations that have in an interest in furthering HPCO’s mandate.

Organizational Associate (non-member)
Organizational Associates are organizations whose primary objective is not the provision of hospice palliative care services, but who have an interest in the objectives of Hospice Palliative Care Ontario which may include vendors/suppliers, long-term care homes, and other provincial associations. Emerging organizations planning to provide hospice palliative care services, such as organizations building but not yet operating a hospice residence, may also apply for status in this category. Please note that Associates are not members of the HPCO Non-Profit Corporation.

Student Associate (non-member)
Student Associates are individuals who have an interest in the objectives of Hospice Palliative Care Ontario and the hospice sector in general. Students who are interested in learning more about hospice and palliative care, networking with professionals in the field and exploring their potential career opportunities are welcomed to apply.  The annual fee for this category is $40 + HST.  Visit our Student Associate Benefits Package to learn more and complete the application form.

 

Types of Membership

Hospice Palliative Care Ontario offers membership for individuals who have in an interest in furthering HPCO purpose and to incorporated organizations that have as their primary purpose the provision of hospice palliative care.

Membership for Organizations
Incorporated entities that have as their primary purpose the provision of hospice palliative care may apply for membership. The organization must be actively delivering hospice palliative care services. Organizations not actively delivering hospice palliative care may become an affiliate of HPCO. Membership fees vary based on your organizations global budget.

  • Associate status with the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA)
  • Access to HPCO interest groups and work groups
  • Opportunities to contribute to the development of health policy and position statements, and to support the ongoing development of the hospice palliative care movement in Ontario and Canada
  • HPCO’s bi-weekly newsletter to keep you informed of what is happening in the province
  • CHPCA’s AVISO newsletter and monthly updates about national issues
  • Discounts on registrations for staff and volunteers to attend the HPCO Annual Conference
  • Discounts on CHPCA conference registrations and on merchandise offered in the CHPCA online marketplace

Membership for Individuals
Individual who have an interested in furthering Hospice Palliative Care Ontario’s purpose may apply for membership.  Membership benefits for individuals include:

  • Joint membership with CHPCA
  • A subscription to HPCO’s bi-weekly electronic newsletter and to CHPCA’s AVISO newsletter
  • A discounted registration fee for the HPCO Annual Conference and CHPCA conferences
  • Invitations to participate in Communities of Practice
  • Discounted pricing for HPCO publications and discounted pricing on the CHPCA Marketplace
  • Consultation and engagement in the development of education, training, and standards
  • Opportunities to contribute to the development of health policy and position statements, and to support the ongoing development of the hospice palliative care movement in Ontario and Canada

The annual fee for this category is as follows:

  • $80 + HST

Please note, individual membership is valid for one year from the day you register.

Example:  If you register on April 22, 2022, your membership is valid until April 21, 2023.
