There are a vast number of resources readily available and provided for health care teams to support individuals in their palliative care and/or end of life journey. However, the individual’s informal caregiver is often underestimated during this process and can often feel as though they are not receiving adequate support, resources, treatment, and services to help them be the best caregiver they can be.
The HPCO team has been working diligently to create a comprehensive set of caregiver modules with the goal of providing support through information and resources to caregivers. These modules cover a wide range of topics from being able to meet the physical, spiritual, and cultural needs of your loved one, learning how to deal with your own emotions and feelings, improving communication amongst your family, and learning how to cope with the end of life process.
The modules are free to access and available in a variety of formats: electronic webpage, PDFs, and transcribed audio clips. They are also available in English, French and First Nations. Please share the following link with anyone you know that could benefit from these modules www.caregiversupport.hpco.ca
