A big thank you to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and Saint Elizabeth for partnering with HPCO to create a dynamic online hospice volunteer learning environment. Over 1,150 volunteers enrolled in the first nine months! Saint Elizabeth CEO Shirlee Sharkey and HPCO CEO Rick Firth announced the partnership at HPCO Annual Conference in April 2016. In an era of widespread digital communication, Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) and Saint Elizabeth are teaming up to make online learning accessible to thousands of hospice volunteers across the province. Leveraging the unique strengths of their organizations, the partners are working collaboratively to update and transform existing classroom-based training into interactive e-learning modules that volunteers may complete at their own pace.
